While attending the Country Music Hall of Fame Medallion Ceremony for the induction of Kenny Rogers, Bobby Bare and Jack Clement on Sunday October 27th, 2013 Barry Gibb & Sonny came together as friends on the stage after the fabulous ceremony had ended with great admiration and appreciation of each others music, careers, common friends, and musical mentors to enjoy a few private moments.

Historically, during Sonny’s amazing streak of consecutive #1 country charting songs from 1965-1972 there were two times when these men’s recordings coincided to dominate both the country and pop charts. First in February 1970 when Sonny’s #1 song “Empty Arms” was at the top of the country chart while the Bee Gees legendary “Lonely Days” was also #1 on the pop chart. It happened again in September 1971 during Sonny’s #1 “Here Comes Honey Again” and the Bee Gees achieving #1 on the pop chart that same month with “How Can You Mend A Broken Heart”.

Another one of life’s many threads between James and Gibb is Sonny produced Marie Osmond’s first three albums. The first of which was Paper Roses, which sold over a million copies. Barry’s beloved youngest brother Andy Gibb and Marie performed many times together throughout the years singing duets on numerous television shows and also maintained a close friendship. Each of the three Marie Osmond albums contained recordings written by Sonny James.
